PROMT: Do you want to save the changes?
At the end of 2017, I asked myself, “Do you want to save the changes?”.
If you are in my shoes, how would you respond to a yes or no
question?
I answered No.
Which makes me hope for a better, stronger and wiser self.
That makes the gift of new year comes in
handy.
A new day, a new beginning that makes our unfinished business, mistakes
and regrets of yesterdays amendable.
My 2017 was not perfect, I guess none of us had one. But it
was a year more difficult to beat. For in every disappointment comes a new
lesson to learn. I was more emotionally unstable, to be honest, there was a time
that am just getting by day after day. But God has been good, to show me things
I should be thankful for. It is when your expectations were down to zero that
we can appreciate small and simple things.
New Year, New Life, New Beginning--- what’s new after all? I
am still me! only a number was added to 2017. It turned 2018. What new life? My
life has never been restarted from when I am conceived in the womb, in fact am
still aging. What new beginning? There is no reset in life, mine was just
continuously moving. But what does this New thing means? It is our ability to
start anew. Healing doesn’t mean we never had the disease, but we overcome the
disease. Mending doesn’t mean our hearts were never broken but we are willing
to forgive and let go. These New things am telling you, were not actually new, what our minds conceive and how our hearts will feel that will make our life a new
one.
Looking back on what my life in 2017 had given me, I realized
that I am not perfect yet everyday, before the day ends, I should ask myself, “Do
you want to save the changes?”. If not, before calling it a day, make amends,
talk, speak up, so you can live your life not looking for regrets on the things
you didn’t do, words you haven’t said, feelings you haven’t shared and even to the things you should have not done , words you shouldn't have said and feelings you shouldn't have shared. Then i realized, i can answer the above promt with "not yet" then later on with a "yes".
Now am going to ask you, before you finished reading this,
thinking about your life until now, “Do you want to save the changes?”
Happy New Year! Happy 2018!
